Alzheimer's Association recently received a $25,000.00 donation from The Woodforest
The Alzheimer’s Association, active throughout Texas since 1978, is the leading voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. With multiple regional chapters across the state, it serves individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, as well as their families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Its mission is to lead the way in ending Alzheimer’s and all other dementias by advancing research, promoting early detection and risk reduction, and maximizing quality care and support. Through its statewide network of chapters and community partners, the organization provides a wide range of support services and educational programs. These include a free 24/7 helpline offering information, crisis assistance, and referrals; support groups for caregivers and individuals with dementia; and educational programs covering topics such as diagnosis, caregiving strategies, and living with the disease. The Alzheimer’s Association also offers care consultations, early‑stage support programs, and community respite services to assist families in managing the challenges of dementia and maintaining quality of life. In addition to direct services, the organization plays a significant role in research and advocacy. As one of the largest nonprofit funders of Alzheimer’s research, it supports scientific studies aimed at improving treatment, prevention, and ultimately finding a cure. At the same time, it advocates for public policies that expand access to care, increase research funding, and improve support systems for individuals affected by dementia across Texas and nationwide.
