LANDOVER HILLS, MD – Woodforest Charitable Foundation makes a $300 donation to Capital Area Food Bank.  The funds will support the Food Bank’s partner agencies serving Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Founded in 1980, Capital Area Food Bank annually distributes nearly 30 million pounds of food to more than 478,000 people throughout the Washington Metropolitan area.  The mission of the Capital Area Food Bank is to feed those who suffer from hunger by acquiring food and distributing it through our network of member agencies; and to educate, empower and enlighten the community about the issues of hunger and nutrition.

“Children and the elderly, as well as families struggling with the continuing tough economy, will have more nutritious, vitamin and mineral-rich fresh produce to celebrate at dinner because of Woodforest Charitable Foundation’s donation,” stated Lynn Brantley, President & CEO of Capital Area Food Bank.  “Please accept Capital Area Food Bank’s heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution.”
