Conroe, TX - In support of adults with mental challenges, Woodforest Charitable Foundation recently made a donation of $10,000 to Bridgewood Farms.

Children's Safe Harbor opened its doors to serve sexually and severely abused children in August 1998. Since that time over 8,735 children and their non-offending caregivers have been served through the neutral fact-finding service of a forensic interview.  Since 1998, 41% to 71% of those same families have received individual, family and/or group counseling services.  The  average client is a 7 year old, Caucasian female who has been victimized by someone that she knows and trusts.  All services are provided free of charge.

The goal of Children's Safe Harbor is to reduce the trauma of child victims and their non-offending caregivers by facilitating a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary team approach to intervention, investigation, prosecution and treatment of child sexual and severe physical abuse. With a team of community and professional agencies united, Children’s Safe Harbor is committed to counsel the mind and heal the body of brave children and prosecute the offenders of the youngest and most vulnerable victims in their community. Children's Safe Harbors' mission is to protect and enhance the life of every child who has the courage to battle sexual and physical abuse.

Children's Safe Harbor is a Full Member of the National Children's Alliance, the national association for children's advocacy centers and receives funding from the Federal Victim of Crime Act which supports the forensic interview and counseling programs for the provision of direct services to crime victims.

“Your support and thoughtfulness is sincerely appreciated. Every team member of the Harbor graciously extends a heartfelt thank you for your contribution. We are dedicated to the mission of providing a safe, child-friendly environment for victims of child abuse during the investigation process. Your charitable donation helps us to stay focused on our mission. It takes an entire community to end child abuse. Thank you for aiding us in our work,” said Dr. Victoria Constance, Executive Director and CEO Board of Directors of Children’s Safe Harbor.
