Family Promise of Greene County (OH) was established in 1995 (initially as the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County) and formally opened its shelter services in Xenia, Ohio, soon afterward, to assist families experiencing homelessness. Its core mission is to help families experiencing homelessness and low‑income families achieve sustainable independence through a community‑based response. Operating a 24-hour emergency shelter in Xenia, the organization provides safe lodging, meals, and intensive case management for families, most of whom are served by staff who once were guests themselves, all with a remarkable success rate in achieving permanent housing. Family Promise of Greene County continues to partner with local faith communities and volunteers to prevent homelessness, support families in crisis, and promote long-term stability across the Greene County region.
