Greater Cleveland Food Bank, founded in 1979, is based in Cleveland, Ohio, and serves communities across Northeast Ohio, including Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Ashland, and Richland counties. It is the largest hunger‑relief organization in the region, working to address food insecurity through a broad network of community partnerships. Its mission is to provide nutritious food and essential resources so that individuals and families facing hunger can thrive, with the long‑term vision of creating a community free from hunger. Through a network of more than 1,000 partner agencies—including food pantries, shelters, and meal programs—the Food Bank distributes millions of meals and essential items each year to hundreds of thousands of people in need. In addition to traditional food distribution, the organization operates mobile pantry programs that deliver fresh foods directly to underserved communities, especially in areas with limited access to grocery stores. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank also provides a variety of supportive services aimed at long‑term stability. These include SNAP (food stamp) outreach and application assistance, a help center connecting individuals to local resources, nutrition education initiatives, and specialized programs for children, seniors, and families. By combining direct food assistance with advocacy and community partnerships, the organization works to reduce hunger while addressing its underlying causes.
