Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank, based in Texarkana (serving parts of northeast Texas and southwest Arkansas), is a nonprofit hunger‑relief organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity across its region. Its mission is to alleviate hunger through food distribution and community education, with the goal of building a hunger‑free community. The organization operates as a central food distribution hub, collecting donated and purchased food and supplying it to a large network of more than 100 partner agencies—including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, and community programs. Through this network, Harvest Texarkana provides food assistance to thousands of individuals and families across a 10‑county service area that includes Bowie County, Texas. In addition to traditional food bank operations, Harvest Texarkana runs several targeted programs designed to reach vulnerable populations. These include mobile pantry distributions to serve rural and underserved areas, and backpack programs that provide food to children, so they have meals over weekends and school breaks. The organization also distributes fresh produce, prepared foods, and bulk items, and participates in federal nutrition programs to increase access to essential food resources. Beyond direct food assistance, Harvest Texarkana emphasizes community education and awareness about hunger, as well as volunteer engagement and partnerships with local organizations. By combining large‑scale food distribution with community collaboration and outreach, the organization works to provide both immediate relief and long‑term solutions to hunger in the Texarkana region.
