HOUSTON, TX – North Channel Assistance Ministries was recently presented with a $2,000 donation from Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

North Channel Assistance Ministries (NCAM) is the emergency food pantry for the northeast quadrant of Houston.  NCAM’s main focus is helping area residents with short term emergency assistance, including food and clothing.

“With the industries in the North Channel area severely impacted by the current recession, demand for emergency services has sky-rocketed, making North Channel Assistance Ministries one of the most active food pantries in the state,” said Rodney Redford, Executive Director of NCAM.  “Faced with this accelerating demand, we are planning a new facility on our existing site.  This generous donation from Woodforest Charitable Foundation will certainly help aid our capital fund-raising campaign.”
