Tate’s Place, founded in 2021 and based in Big Spring, Texas, is a community‑focused nonprofit organization created in memory of Tate Crawford. The organization was established to honor his legacy by helping others in need and strengthening the local community through acts of service and compassion. Its mission is simple but flexible: to provide essential items to individuals and families facing hardship, recognizing that “essentials” can vary depending on each person’s situation. Tate’s Place operates a variety of programs designed to meet basic needs and support families experiencing financial or personal challenges. These include food distribution efforts, produce pantries, and a Box Delivery Program that provides groceries and household goods to families during times of need, such as school breaks. In addition, the organization hosts seasonal community events like back‑to‑school drives, where children receive shoes, backpacks, and supplies, and holiday programs that provide meals, gifts, clothing, and other essentials to families. Beyond these services, Tate’s Place also works to strengthen the community through outreach, fundraising events, and supportive initiatives such as scholarships and assistance for families facing hardship. By focusing on both immediate needs and community connection, the organization aims to close resource gaps and improve the well‑being of those it serves.
