Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank Receives $5,700 Donation

TOLEDO, OH – Woodforest Charitable Foundation donates $5,700 to Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank in support of their Kids Café Program.

Kids Cafe is a nation-wide program through Feeding America that feeds children a hot, nutritious meal in a safe environment after school. It also offers children the opportunity to learn about hunger and nutrition through fun and enriching activities. All children who are currently enrolled in the National Free and Reduced Lunch Program are welcome to enjoy a warm, nutritious evening meal at the Kids Cafe every Monday-Friday.

“In these tough economic times, the number of people we help has dramatically increased,” said James Caldwell, President & CEO of Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank. “Together we have played a vital role in the fight to end hunger. Woodforest’s compassion and generosity, combined with our resources, has given more than food or money. Together we’ve given hope. Thank you for your generous support.”

Over the past 26 years, the Food Bank has distributed over 76 million pounds of food and grocery products to our member agencies. With food that might otherwise spoil, the Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank is bridging the gap between hunger and waste.  The Food Bank currently serves over 300 non-profit agencies each year.
