West Alabama Food Bank recently received a $985.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

The West Alabama Food Bank, launched in 1987, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Northport/Tuscaloosa, Alabama, committed to fighting hunger across nine western Alabama counties: Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa. Its mission is simple yet powerful: to help alleviate hunger and food insecurity in West Alabama. The Food Bank collects surplus and donated food from grocery stores and producers, stores it safely, and then distributes it at highly discounted rates to partner nonprofit agencies—creating up to $12.25 worth of food for every dollar spent by those agencies. Over the years, it has distributed millions of pounds of food to families, seniors, and individuals facing food insecurity throughout the region.
