Wildwood Soup Kitchen recently received a $400.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.
Wildwood Soup Kitchen, established in 2011, operates out of Wildwood, Florida, serving individuals and families throughout Sumter County. Its mission is to provide healthy, nutritious meals at no cost to those who are hungry, while also offering compassion, hospitality, and a sense of community for the poor, the lonely, and those in need. Through a collaborative, faith‑based network of local churches and volunteers, the organization functions as an ecumenical ministry dedicated to feeding the community and supporting vulnerable populations. The Wildwood Soup Kitchen offers daily meal services, including in‑house dining and take‑out options, and provides free home‑delivered meals to shut‑ins and individuals unable to travel. In addition to serving adults, the organization supports children from low‑income families through “snack pack” programs that supply weekend food to students in local schools. Operated entirely by volunteers and funded through donations, the program ensures that all individuals are welcomed without regard to race, age, religion, or income, reinforcing its commitment to dignity and inclusivity.
