Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank recently received $4,385.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

The Akron‑Canton Regional Foodbank, founded in 1982 by community leaders committed to providing emergency food to neighbors in need, serves as a critical hunger‑relief hub in Northeast Ohio. Its mission is to lead a collaborative network that empowers people to experience healthy and hunger‑free lives. The Foodbank works by distributing food to local partner agencies, while also advocating, engaging, and convening the community in efforts to end hunger. Today, the organization supports 600 hunger‑relief programs across eight counties, including food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters, and children’s and senior programs, and operates two major campuses with over 140,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, including extensive refrigeration and freezer facilities. In 2024 alone, the Foodbank distributed more than 40 million pounds of food, roughly 31 million meals, a record volume in its history, reflecting sharply increased demand across the region.
