Greater Cleveland Foodbank recently received a $1,755.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank was founded in 1979 by a coalition of food‑industry professionals, anti‑waste advocates, and civic leaders to create a centralized system for soliciting, sorting, and distributing surplus food efficiently throughout Northeast Ohio. It began distributing over 400,000 pounds of food in its first year and formally incorporated as a nonprofit to support local food pantries and meal programs. Its mission is to ensure that everyone in its communities has the nutritious food they need every day, a commitment that now spans six counties. Today, as the region’s largest hunger‑relief organization, the Food Bank supports more than 1,000 partner agencies, including food pantries, shelters, meal programs, mobile pantries, and programs for children and seniors. In fiscal year 2024 alone, the Food Bank distributed over 54 million pounds of food and served more than 424,000 individuals across its service area. It also operates a Help Center that connects people with SNAP benefits, housing support, and other critical services.
