Family Promise of Greater Roanoke recently received a $1,000.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Established in 1997 and welcoming its first families in 1998, Family Promise of Greater Roanoke empowers homeless families with children to achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. The organization is supported by dozens of faith communities and over 1,000 volunteers, offering rotating overnight shelter, meals, and full-time case management for up to four families at a time, helping 88% of participating families secure permanent housing, with 90% remaining housed for at least a year. Combining wraparound support like shelter, stabilization, and prevention services, Family Promise delivers both immediate help and long-term solutions, because every child deserves a home.
