Food Bank of Northern Indiana recently received a $3,045.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in May 1993, the organization initially operated as the North Central Indiana Food Bank under the United Religious Community’s Hunger Education Task Force. It became a certified member of Feeding America in February 1996 and adopted the name Food Bank of Northern Indiana in 2006, reflecting its growing regional service footprint.

Its mission: “to work in partnership with the community to feed the hungry, increase awareness of the effects of hunger, and lead programs designed to alleviate hunger”. Serving six counties, the Food Bank partners with over 125 member agencies such as pantries, kitchens, and shelters, distributes millions of pounds of food annually.
