ATLANTA, GA – Atlanta Community Food Bank welcomes a $160 gift from Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank currently distributes nearly two million pounds of food and other donated grocery items each month to more than 700 nonprofit partner agencies in 38 counties throughout Metro Atlanta and North Georgia. The Food Bank supports a wide range of people in need, from children to the working poor. Partner agencies include food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. These agencies distribute food and other critical resources to low-income Georgians who suffer from hunger and food insecurity.

“Today, because of partners like Woodforest Charitable Foundation, more than a dozen Food Bank trucks are on the road picking up donations from food drives, as well as fresh vegetables, bread, dairy, and meat from retailers and manufacturers to distribute to our partner nonprofit feeding programs across Atlanta and North Georgia,” expressed Kimberley Hays de Muga, Senior Development Manager of Atlanta Community Food Bank. “Your gift has a tremendous impact on our work to feed those in need.”
