Family Promise of Collin County recently received a $4,500.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Family Promise of Collin County (FPOCC) launched in 2011 in Allen, Texas, to support local families with children facing homelessness. Their mission is to provide food, shelter, and support services to Collin County families with children as they regain sustainable independence by leveraging a community-based model of compassion and assistance. Operating under the national Family Promise framework (founded nationally in 1988), FPOCC mobilizes over a dozen partner congregations and volunteers to offer rotating overnight shelter, meals, and access to a Day Center for showers, laundry, career coaching, case management, and mail services. Their holistic “Help, Hope, Housing” model focuses on immediate assistance, empowerment through financial education and case planning, and securing stable housing, with an impressive 88% of families exiting the shelter who secure permanent housing within roughly nine weeks. Since its founding, FPOCC has served hundreds of families, offering an efficient, community-powered alternative to traditional shelters, while helping families rebuild their lives through dignity, stability, and local collaboration.
