Family Promise of Lake Houston recently received a $4,000.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Family Promise of Lake Houston is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless families in the Lake Houston area achieve lasting independence. Established in 2007, the organization officially opened its doors in August 2009 . Operating as an affiliate of the national Family Promise network, it brings together service agencies and local volunteers to provide safe, temporary housing, meals, and support services to homeless families with children. The organization's mission is to embrace, inspire, and restore families by offering comprehensive programs that address the underlying causes of homelessness. These programs include life skills classes, budgeting, parenting support, GED preparation, job training, and assistance with housing and employment searches. Families typically participate in the program for 90 to 120 days, during which they receive daily support and educational programs aimed at leading them to permanent self-sufficiency.
