Hampton, VA – On a continual basis Woodforest National Bank employees perform a multitude of fundraising events benefitting the Woodforest Charitable Foundation.  Both Woodforest National Bank and Woodforest Charitable Foundation are committed to making a positive impact in the communities in which Woodforest serves. This partnership benefits the community and organizations such as Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula which recently received a $2,690 donation from the Woodforest Charitable Foundation.
The Foodbank is a charitable organization that solicits, receives, inventories, store, and distributes purchased and donated food and grocery products to charitable agencies that directly help the needy.
Since their inception in 1986, the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula has distributed over 130.9 million pounds of food to our neighbors in the community.  For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, the Foodbank distributed 8.2 million pounds of food.
The mission of The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula is to distribute food effectively through collaborative efforts that minimize hunger, promote nutrition and self-reliance through education.
