Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in 2006, Helping A Hero is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting military personnel who have been severely injured in the War on Terror. Its core mission is to provide specially adapted homes for qualifying veterans, accomplished through collaborative efforts involving builders, developers, communities, and the veterans themselves. Beyond housing, Helping A Hero extends several supportive programs, such as marriage and caregiver retreats, recreational outings, emotional and financial assistance, and its "Operation Merry Christmas" initiative, to empower wounded heroes and their families at every step of their healing journey.
