High Plains Food Bank, founded in 1982, is the primary hunger-relief organization serving the Texas Panhandle across up to 29 counties. Its mission is to alleviate hunger in the Texas Panhandle, which it accomplishes by collecting, warehousing, and distributing donated and purchased food through a network of over 150 partner agencies, including food pantries, senior centers, schools, and shelters. Key programs include emergency food assistance, the Senior Adult Food Box (CSFP) program, Kids Cafe meals for children, Mobile Harvest deliveries to rural areas, nutrition education, benefits assistance (SNAP, Medicaid, TANF), and The Garden at HPFB, designed to increase fresh produce availability.  By integrating direct service and community education, High Plains Food Bank empowers individuals and families to achieve long-term food security and self-sufficiency.
