Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania recently received a $1,900.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania, originally established in 1982 as the Erie Community Food Bank, adopted its current name in 1990 to reflect its expanding service across the region. The organization’s mission is to provide food to those in need within eleven counties of northwest Pennsylvania while creating awareness and educating the community on the realities of hunger. Today, Second Harvest serves as the primary hunger-relief organization in the region, distributing roughly 12 million pounds of food annually, equivalent to over 10 million meals, through a network of more than 375 partner agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, mobile pantries, school pantries, military-share programs, SNAP outreach, and Senior Box distributions. Their reach extends across 11 counties, and they serve more than 85,000 individuals each year, about one in every four people in northwest Pennsylvania.
