Meals on Wheels of Chemung County recently received a $585.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in 1970, the program began as a coordinated community effort to deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors and disabled adults who were unable to shop or cook for themselves. As a nationally certified, volunteer-led organization, its mission is to provide nutritious and appealing meals, including special diets, through regular personal contact for those in need to enable healthy independence. Every weekday, volunteers deliver hot meals or lunch with a cold supper between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., offering not only nourishment but also companionship and daily well‑being checks. Those requiring nutritional support receive education and counseling, and clients can access specially prepared diets and weekend meal packages as needed.
