Mississippi Food Network recently received a $6,285.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in 1984, the Mississippi Food Network has been serving as the only statewide and only Feeding America affiliate in Mississippi, tackling hunger across the state through collaborative efforts. From its beginnings, MFN has grown to distribute over 1.5 million pounds of food per month, supporting 150,000 individuals every month, roughly 1.8 million people annually, via a network of 430 member agencies, pantries, meal sites, shelters, and school programs. Its mission is to change lives by fighting hunger today and feeding hope for a healthier tomorrow, guided by a vision of a hunger-free Mississippi. MFN emphasizes stewardship, teamwork, innovation, and empathy, and remains committed to ensuring nearly 95% of every dollar donated goes directly to programs. Through initiatives like the Mobile Pantry, BackPack child weekend meals, after-school snack programs, summer feeding sites, and Senior Grocery deliveries, MFN combines emergency distribution, nutrition education, benefits enrollment support, and strategic partnerships to address both immediate needs and root causes of hunger across Mississippi.
