INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Woodforest Charitable Foundation donates $5,000 to Ronald McDonald House of Indiana, Inc.

No family should ever have to worry about the cost of being at their child’s side, especially when they are ill.  Offering the comfort and security of home during a child’s health crisis, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Indiana keeps families together.

Every year, more than 1,900 families stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana while their children receive life-saving treatment at Indianapolis-area hospitals.  For many of these families the emotional, physical and financial stress can be overwhelming as their children spend days, weeks and sometimes months in the hospital.  The Ronald McDonald House helps alleviate some of this stress by providing families low-to-no-cost temporary housing near their hospitalized children.

“As the only organization in Central Indiana providing lodging services for families with children who are being treated at area hospitals, we were privileged to serve over 1,900 families in 2009,” said Beth Johnson, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House of Indiana.  “Woodforest Charitable Foundation’s support and involvement with our House helps us carry out our mission and allows parents to focus on what is really important – the health of their child.  We are so grateful for the Foundation’s annual gifts and look forward to their continued support.”

The Ronald McDonald House of Indiana embraces all families with sick or injured children being treated in Indianapolis-area hospitals.  No family is ever turned away from the House if they are unable to pay.
