San Antonio Food Bank recently received a $6,640.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1980 by Sister Mary Helen Sullivan of the Catholic Archdiocese’s Human Development Office, the San Antonio Food Bank was established to address hunger throughout Southwest Texas. Its mission is to fight hunger and feed hope by distributing nutritious food and offering education, advocacy, and community programs aimed at long-term food security. Operating with remarkable efficiency, over 98% of donations go directly to programs, SAFB distributes tens of millions of pounds of food annually through a network of more than 500 partner agencies serving 29 counties. The organization runs a wide range of initiatives, including Mobile Markets, veteran care, job training, summer food for kids, SNAP outreach, and urban and historic agricultural farms that produce fresh food for community distribution.
