St. Louis Area Foodbank recently received a $2,015.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in July 1975, the organization was established in response to a media-revealed hunger crisis affecting St. Louis and surrounding communities, distributing approximately 52,000 pounds of food during its first year to address severe nutritional needs among families. Today known as the St. Louis Area Foodbank, its mission is to build a stronger bi‑state region by nourishing people, empowering communities, and transforming systems, ensuring equitable access to nutritious food across 26 counties in Eastern Missouri and Southwestern Illinois. Operating in partnership with nearly 600 agency partners, including food pantries, shelters, schools, and mobile distribution programs. It distributes millions of meals annually through initiatives like Food-on-the-Move mobile pantries, School Markets, and large-scale Food Distribution Events, while also offering support such as SNAP/Medicaid enrollment assistance. In short, since its founding, the Foodbank has served hundreds of thousands of individuals each year, working to end hunger and build food security throughout the St. Louis region.
