Peoria Area Food Bank recently received a $2,015.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1984, the Peoria Area Food Bank emerged as part of the broader Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity (PCCEO) to address hunger across Peoria, Tazewell, and Mason counties in Illinois. Its mission is to supply food and grocery products to a network of pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and service agencies throughout the region, faithfully serving low‑income families with dignity and stability. Today, it partners with 80+ active pantries, kitchens, homeless shelters, and day‑care centers, distributing USDA commodities and donated brand‑name groceries, while also running mobile pantry routes and a Backpack Program that provides nutritious weekend meals to children in need.
