THE WOODLANDS, Texas (December, 2009) - Woodforest Charitable Foundation donates $5,000 to The Friendship Center.

Established in 1973, The Friendship Center is the only non-profit organization specifically dedicated to serving the needs and enriching the lives of seniors throughout Montgomery County, Texas.

The mission of The Friendship Center is to provide support, advocacy and services to senior adults in Montgomery County so that they may remain independent and vital members of our community.  The Center offers a variety of programs that seek to meet the social, physical and emotional needs of seniors 60 years and older.  These services include entertainment, meals and fellowship at several centers, hot meals delivered to their homes, pet food assistance, access to safe and reliable transportation, outings and more. The intangible benefits include rewarding social interaction, a sense of belonging, and the comfort of knowing there's an organization to turn to for help.  “The Friendship Center offers six activity centers in our community, where seniors can gather for fun, games and educational programming while sharing fellowship with their peers,” said Nancy Harrington, President of The Friendship Center. “        Through Woodforest Charitable Foundation’s help, we are able to serve the seniors of Mongtomery County.  Thank you for your continued support of our organization.”
