Tri-State Food Bank recently received a $500.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1982, Tri‑State Food Bank began when a group led by Henry Campbell partnered with other regional hunger‑relief organizations, starting with one borrowed pickup truck and service to just seven nonprofit agencies in Evansville. The following year, they acquired a warehouse and distributed over 150,000 pounds of food to a growing network of agencies. Today, its mission is “to improve the quality of life for our community's food‑insecure families and children by providing adequate food and nutrition through our network of local charities and organizations feeding the hungry.” The Illinois service area includes 16 counties, such as Alexander, Saline, Union, Wabash, Massac, and Gallatin, partnering with pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and mobile distribution sites across the region. Serving more than 250 feeding programs across 33 counties, the organization now distributes over 9 million pounds of food annually, including through programs like BackPack meals for children, senior meal boxes (CSFP), and mobile food distributions targeted to underserved communities.
