Atlanta Community Food Bank recently received a $5,730.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in 1979 by Bill Bolling in the basement of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, the Food Bank began by distributing just 15,000 lbs of food to about 25 partner organizations in its first year, to coordinate and amplify hunger relief through a centralized hub and decentralized partner network. Its mission is to fight hunger by engaging, educating, and empowering the community, striving to ensure all residents in the 29-county service area of metro Atlanta and North Georgia have reliable access to nutritious food. Today, working with nearly 700 partner agencies, the Food Bank distributes over 9–10 million pounds of food monthly—equivalent to hundreds of millions of meals annually and in February 2023, surpassed 1 billion meals served. It also leads educational and advocacy initiatives like Hunger 101, community gardening, the Atlanta Prosperity Campaign, and mobile markets designed to increase equity, access, and economic stability in its neighborhoods.
