Family Promise of Acadiana recently received a $500.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Established in 2004 as the first Family Promise affiliate in Louisiana, this organization focuses on supporting families with minor children who are experiencing homelessness or are at imminent risk of losing housing. It offers a community-based response built through local congregations and volunteers, providing emergency shelter, intensive long-term case management, and financial literacy coaching to help families gain stability and independence. Through its Prevention & Diversion, Shelter, and Stabilization programs, the agency prevents homelessness when possible, shelters families during crisis, and continues support through aftercare services, resulting in about 87% of served families graduating into permanent housing and 93% gaining employment. Supported by an interfaith network of congregations and over 400 volunteers, Family Promise of Acadiana emphasizes quality outcomes over quantity, working to ensure lasting independence for families in the greater Lafayette community.
