Blue Ridge Area Food Bank recently received a $6,225.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1981 as a rural experiment in food banking, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank has grown into the largest hunger-relief organization in central and western Virginia. Its mission is to improve food security through equitable access to good nutrition and the resources that support health and well-being. Today, BRAFB serves 25 counties and 8 cities across the region, operating distribution centers in Verona, Charlottesville, Lynchburg, and Winchester. Through a network of more than 200 partner agencies, the Food Bank provides nourishing meals to an average of over 100,000 individuals each month, distributing over 31 million pounds of food annually, including 9 million pounds of fresh produce.
