Feed More Virginia recently received a $8,600.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Feed More was officially formed through the merger of the Central Virginia Food Bank (established in 1980 by 60 local churches and charities) and Meals on Wheels (founded in 1967), coming together on July 1, 2008, as a unified hunger-relief organization. Their mission is Nourishing Communities, Empowering Lives, drives a broad range of services. Feed More collects, prepares, and distributes food to neighbors in need across 34 cities and counties in Central Virginia via a network of 380+ partner agencies. In 2024 alone, the organization distributed nearly 40 million pounds of food, prepared 750,000 made-from-scratch meals weekly at its Bayard Community Kitchen, and facilitated 2.3 million visits to partner food pantries. Feed More’s impact is powered by dedicated volunteers, more than 200 people each day, who help deliver meals through programs like Meals on Wheels, mobile pantries, and childhood nutrition initiatives such as Backpack Meals and Kids’ Cafe.
