Community Harvest Food Bank of NE Indiana recently received a $1,740.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1983 in response to the closure of a major International Harvester plant that sparked widespread job loss, Community Harvest stepped in to serve individuals and families struggling to feed themselves during a regional economic crisis. In its first year, the organization distributed over 200,000 pounds of food to local agencies and residents in need. Its mission is to alleviate hunger through the full use of donated food and other resources, striving to be a dynamic, responsive leader in hunger relief across northeast Indiana. Serving nine counties, including Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, and Noble. Community Harvest distributes millions of pounds of food each year through nearly 400 partner agencies and a suite of direct-to-community programs like the Farm Wagon mobile pantry, Saturday Helping Hands, Kids Backpack, SeniorPak, Hope for Heroes for veterans, and emergency Crisis Assistance.
