Boy Scouts of America recently received a $7,500.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded on February 8, 1910, after Chicago publisher William D. Boyce was inspired by the kindness of an anonymous Scout in London, the Boy Scouts of America was formally incorporated to promote patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and related values among youth. Its mission remains steadfast: to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Through a blend of outdoor adventure, leadership development, and character-building activities, from camping and civic engagement to high-adventure experiences, the organization equips youth with responsible citizenship and lifelong skills. In 2025, on its 115th anniversary, the organization officially rebranded to Scouting America, aiming to be more inclusive while continuing to uphold its core mission and values.
