Food Bank of Central New York recently received a $1,170.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1985, the Food Bank of Central New York has grown into the primary distribution hub for hundreds of partner agencies across 11 counties spanning Central New York, the North Country, and the Mohawk Valley—and it distributes more than 22.2 million pounds of food annually, equivalent to roughly 18.5 million meals. Their mission is to lead the effort to eliminate hunger in our region by partnering with others in our community through education, advocacy, and distribution of nutritious food, guided by a vision of a community where everyone has access to nutritious food and no one is hungry. To achieve this, the Food Bank partners with over 360 local agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and senior centers, providing food acquired through donations, USDA commodity programs, and bulk food purchases. Their work also includes SNAP/WIC outreach, nutrition education, advocacy efforts to strengthen public benefits, and innovative programs.
