Camp Hope, established in 2012, is a six- to nine-month interim housing program located near Houston, Texas, dedicated to helping combat veterans and their immediate family members heal from the invisible wounds of war. Its mission aligns with the PTSD Foundation’s broader goal to drastically reduce the veteran suicide rate and provide hope for a brighter future, offering veterans a restorative environment where healing is paramount. At Camp Hope, veterans benefit from a whole-person, veteran-centered approach. The structured program includes peer support, group therapy, and one-on-one mentoring, all delivered by trained combat veterans and pastoral staff who understand trauma firsthand. Residents also participate in therapeutic outdoor activities, such as fishing and camping, and receive practical support that ranges from job placement to navigating VA benefits, all within a caring and faith-informed setting.
