Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in 2016 by Kim Hess following the tragic suicide of her 16-year-old daughter, Cassidy, the Cassidy Joined for Hope Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preventing teen suicide through awareness, education, and community involvement. The foundation works to break the silence and end stigma around teen suicide by establishing student-led Joined for Hope clubs in schools, safe spaces where teens, with faculty support, promote hope, kindness, and mental health conversations. These efforts are supported through mental health screenings, speaking engagements, scholarships, and community events like kickball tournaments held during National Suicide Prevention Month. In essence, Cassidy Joined for Hope transforms personal tragedy into powerful outreach, empowering students and communities to save lives and foster hope.
