Child Advocates of Montgomery County began approximately 33 years ago, and has since provided volunteer guardians, known as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs), to 100% of children in foster care within Montgomery County each year for the past decade. The organization has recently expanded its services to include youth involved with the juvenile justice system, those struggling with truancy, and a growing Community Education Division that offers training on topics like trauma-informed care, human trafficking prevention, and adverse childhood experiences. Their mission centers on being a steadfast advocate for children from hard places, ensuring they are heard, protected, and connected to the support systems they need. Through Child Welfare Advocacy, Justice-Involved Youth Advocacy, and Educational Advocacy, trained volunteers, often ordinary community members, guide each child through complex legal, social, and educational systems to help secure better outcomes and brighter futures.
