Family Promise of Western New York recently received a $500.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in 1994, Family Promise of Western New York began through the partnership of local churches and clergy in Erie County, reaching out to the national Interfaith Hospitality Network initiative. The inaugural board and first host congregations were established in December of that year, launching a rotating overnight shelter model where families stayed in local houses of worship while receiving daytime case management and support. Their mission is to keep families experiencing homelessness together by offering emergency housing, meals, and tailored support as they work toward independence. Services include intensive case management, eviction prevention, diversion programming, temporary housing, and housing stabilization, all delivered within a trauma-informed, family-centered approach.
