Compassion United recently received a $30,000.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 2006 by Luke and Karla Redus, Compassion United in Conroe, Texas, began with a simple act of goodwill, feeding the homeless from their car with homemade breakfast tacos, and has since grown into the most comprehensive support ministry in Montgomery County. Guided by its mission to transform our communities by serving their forgotten and marginalized through outreach, relief and empowerment, the organization offers a wide range of programs including Breakfast in the Park, a weekly meal service for unhoused individuals; Terry’s Tables Food Pantry, which distributes over 230,000 pounds of food annually; and the Compassion Community Care Center, providing essentials such as food, clothing, medical support, and shelter guidance. Compassion United also operates transitional homes, Hosanna House for women and Freedom House for men, offering structured environments for healing and reintegration, along with Destiny Kids, a program nurturing at-risk youth, and Conroe House of Prayer, a welcoming sanctuary offering meals, clothing, and spiritual connection. Looking to the future, the organization is developing “Miracle City,” a multi-acre campus dedicated to long-term empowerment with transitional housing, vocational workshops, and wraparound services, all designed to restore hope and foster independence. Through these initiatives, Compassion United continues to feed bodies, heal hearts, and empower individuals toward sustainable futures.
