Facing Hunger Food Bank recently received a $900.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Facing Hunger Food Bank was established in 1981 and serves communities across West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and southeastern Ohio, with its operations based in Huntington, WV. Its mission is to combat food insecurity by distributing nutritious food via a vast agency network, especially reaching into rural and underserved areas through initiatives like mobile food pantries. The Food Bank provides food access to approximately 116,000 people annually delivering mobile distributions to food deserts, providing backpack meals for schoolchildren, and offering home deliveries for seniors, among other programs. Recently, Facing Hunger has led several innovative outreach efforts, such as distributing medically tailored frozen meals to patients at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, providing a vital boost to those undergoing treatment.
