Family Promise of Hillsborough County was established in 2010 and admitted its first family into the program in May 2014, operating out of Brandon, Florida to serve the broader Hillsborough County area. Its mission is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community‑based response, keeping families together while they work toward stable housing and self‑sufficiency. Through a network of local congregations and community partners, the organization offers a 90‑day emergency shelter program that houses families together, provides meals, and implements intensive case management. Families meet with case managers at least twice weekly for budgeting, savings planning, and supportive coaching. For those needing longer assistance, an extended-care option provides up to a year (or more) of support.
