Family Promise of Irving was founded in 2010, becoming the local affiliate of Family Promise National and began serving its first family in May 2012 through a coalition of 13 host congregations in Irving, TX. Its mission is to assist children and their families facing homelessness to return to self‑sufficiency through a community-based response, guided by a vision of a nation where every family has a home and the chance to build a better future. Operating through a network of local congregations and volunteers, the organization offers rotating overnight shelter, meals, and access to community resources, paired with individualized support focused on long‑term stability. Their effort is powerful: 88% of participating families secure permanent housing after shelter, leveraging local partnerships to rebuild lives with dignity and hope.
