Family Promise of Jacksonville officially opened its doors on June 12, 2006, beginning with two single mothers and their six children as the first families served. As part of the national Family Promise network, its mission is to prevent and end homelessness for families with children and help them achieve stable, independent lives through a community‑based response. Through partnerships with congregations, social service agencies, and dedicated volunteers, the affiliate provides emergency shelter, meals, and intensive holistic case management, ensuring families remain intact, never separate during their time of need. Today, it supports families experiencing homelessness with pathways to stability by combining shelter, wrap-around services, financial literacy training, housing support, and community advocacy.
