Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Family Promise of Summit County was founded in 2003 as the Interfaith Hospitality Network and began housing families experiencing homelessness in 2004, with just eleven families served in its first. Its mission is to help homeless families with children stay together and achieve sustainable independence, under the guiding vision of keeping families together and alleviating the trauma of homelessness. Operating as an affiliate of the national Family Promise network, the organization offers trauma‑informed case management, financial literacy education, Open Table mentoring, shelter, meals, and essential supplies. They also provide “Going Home, Staying Home” aftercare for at least a year post-program and a Survive to Thrive homeownership initiative supporting families toward generational stability.
