Food Bank of Central & Eastern N.C recently received a $14,150.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1980 by Barbara K. Oates, its first Executive Director, the Food Bank began with nothing more than a card table and a phone in Cary, North Carolina. Growing from these grassroots origins, it has expanded into one of the largest hunger-relief organizations in the U.S., now operating across 34 counties with six branch locations serving more than 700 partner programs, including food markets, pantries, meal sites, and nutrition initiatives. Its mission is to nourish people. Build solutions. Empower communities, and its vision is No one goes hungry. The organization supports holistic work, from food distribution and disaster relief to children’s nutrition programs, SNAP outreach, health partnerships, and workforce development, and champions strategies addressing root causes of hunger and inequity.
