Food Bank of North Alabama recently received a $3,450.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

The Food Bank of North Alabama was founded in 1984 by a dedicated group of volunteers starting at the Huntsville Madison County Senior Center. Initially focused on distributing surplus food, it has grown into a key hunger‑relief organization serving 11 counties in North Alabama. Each year, it distributes over 15 million pounds of food through a network of more than 230 partner organizations—including food pantries, shelters, and children's programs—reaching over 180,000 people at risk of hunger annually.
Its mission is to feed the hungry today and create solutions to end hunger tomorrow. To achieve this, the Food Bank provides immediate food assistance through partner programs and addresses systemic hunger through initiatives that promote local food access, support family farmers, and foster food entrepreneurship in the region.
