Shared Harvest Food Bank recently received a $1,315.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Shared Harvest Foodbank was founded in 1983 by Tina Osso, beginning as a grassroots effort in Fairfield. Today, it is a member of the Feeding America network and works to find, rescue and distribute food to people living in poverty through an efficient network uniting the public and private sectors. Its mission centers on sourcing donated and USDA foods, partnering with local retailers and farms, and distributing them through more than 100 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, and clinics in its five‑county service. In addition to food distribution, Shared Harvest administers USDA’s Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) for several neighboring county food banks, assists individuals in applying for SNAP benefits, facilitates a BackPack weekend meal program for children, and serves seniors through a monthly Senior Box program, all supported by community volunteers and partnerships.
